At Ashes Farm we have some traditional hay meadows, the management of which is critical to maintain the historic botanical diversity. We are able to accomplish this with the use of a combination of modern and old farming practices resulting in a complex collection of ancient flowers and grasses rarely seen in this day and age.

The balancing of the fertility is critical as is the timing of seasonal growth and grazing with stock, weed control and harvesting. To see a wild-flower hay meadow in its full Summer glory is a wonderful sight.
